Landmark year for Warrington Disability Partnership

0

NEXT Year is a landmark year for Warrington Disability Partnership – an organisation I have worked alongside from its inception 25 years ago – and indeed I am honoured to be a trustee.gary 2015

It is amazing to see how the organisation has grown from a small charity run by a handful of volunteers, to one now employing full-time staff and running a successful trading business.

In December WDP is launching a legacy appeal – inviting 1,000 people to raise £25 each and 25 businesses to raise £2,500 each during the charities 25th anniversary year.

The aim of this fund-raising appeal is to help get young disabled people into meaningful employment.

It looks set to be a fantastic silver jubilee year for the charity which is full of inspirational people and stories – none more so than founder Dave Thompson MBE and more recently former soldier Tom Coleridge, who have both bounced back from life changing disabilities with a positive attitude.

The work going on around the community which promotes a positive “can do” mentality is truly outstanding and I would urge people to help support Dave and his team during what will be a special anniversary year.

I have added my name to the challenge and hope others will follow suit.

Warrington Disability Partnership is now a leading light across not just Warrington and the UK but across the globe, helping raise awareness on disability issues, with the landmark Disability Awareness day now being replicated in other countries.
