DANIEL Miller, station manager for Warrington-based Vibe Youth Radio is set to bring a big music festival to the town this October in aid of Oxfam.
The Oxjam Music festival began in 2006, with the aim of creating a network of music-loving people across the UK, all united by a shared goal – to raise money to fight poverty and suffering around the world.
Daniel said: “ Vibe Youth Radio is committed to working with the local community but also to gain a presence on the global scale and Oxjam is helping both in one event which is great.
“The whole project is run by a great team here at Vibe with members ranging from 16 to 24 from all over the North West, with a few targets to help build self esteem, and also filling the gap in media jobs with our brand new partners, AP Directing in Manchester.
“Since the project started in January we have grown our online presence and we are ready to bring Vibe to The public to showcase what all the fuss is about.”
Daniel added: “The artists we have performing are grea. Some people may have heard of some of them, some may not, and Vibe is all about grass root music and helping artists to achieve their lifetime goal and perform in front of a great live audience.
“Something I feel proud about is the diverse range artists we have performing on the night.”
Confirmed artists appearing at DWL, Stockton Heath, on October 30 include Megan Roberts, 18, from North Wales, Doremi Fly, Manchester-based duo Careya and Kira, RNB who will be performing their single “No Giving Up” and, headlining the festival, Twelve24, who have performed a venues around the world, including Denmark, Finland, France, Lithuania, Norway, Slovakia, South Africa, Sweden and the United States.
