WI choir raises £752 for powered wheelchair appeal

THE Weaver Valley WI Choir presented a wonderful evening of music at Elsby Methodist Church to raise £752 to the Helsby Golf Club powered wheelchair appeal.
The choir sang a wide range of songs at the event which was organised by Lyn Woodward, of the WI, and her husband, Ken, who is currently the golf club president.
Some of the choir were just back from Buckingham Palace where they had attended a Queen’s garden party to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the WI.
As part of the evening, the appeal organisers were delighted to present the 332nd chair to nine-year-old May Russell from Helsby.
