MITCHELL Headrick hit a superb century for Kingsley against visitors Lymm Oughtrington Park in the TACS Partnership Cheshire League – but it was not enough for victory.
Headricks’s 114 was out of a team total of 211-9 in 45 overs, with only Edward Lenaghan, 30 not out, providing much in the way of support.
The visitors lost three wickets cheaply, but then the batsmen took control and Lymm ended up winners by six wickets.
Travis Martin, 2-78 and Steve Kitchen, 2-44, were the pick of the Kingsley bowlers.
But the 2nd XI game at Lymm went Kingsley’s way after Alex Wilson, 41, steered the side to 153 all out. Lymm were bowled out for 121, Andrew Ainsworth taking 4-12.
Alvanley took a beating in their Vivio Cheshire County League game against Bredbury St Marks, who batted first and totalled 214. Stephen Charles, 6-42 and Kenny Roberts, 3-60 were Alvanley’s main wicket takers.
Opener Michael Rowlands hit 50 for Alvanley but got little support and the side was bowled out for 134.
Frodsham 3rd XI went down heavily against Saughall 3rd in the Cheshire Alliance.  Saughall hit 159-8 and Frodsham were dismissed for 86.
