GRAPPENHALL progressed into the quarter finals of the Joseph Holt T20 trophy competition with a comfortable win over Oulton Park – but not without a few “hiccups” along the way.

Put into bat, they made a disastrous start and found themselves 18-6. But then Matt “T Bone” Titchard joined Warwick Abrahim, who had stood firm from the start.

The two of them proceeded to demolish the Oulton attack and took the score to 130, when Abrahim was out for a superb 57. Titchard soon followed for a blistering 55, after depositing the ball to all parts of the locality. The final total of 145-7 was competitive.

Oulton Park made a bright start and were well ahead of the run-rate at 38-2 before goi9ng into free-fall with the introduction of that man Titchard who, after four overs, finished with the remarkable figures of 5-6. The Oulton batting crumbled and they finished on 80-8 after their 20 overs.
