Six wicket defeat for Alvanley

ALVANLEY went down by six wickets in the Vivio Cheshire County League game at Mobberley.
Batting first, Alvanley reached 151-5, Andy Bennion hitting 62 not out and Simon Gee 37.
But the home side cantered to 157-4, despite some tidy bowling from Robin Fisher, 2-37.
The honours went the other way in the 2nd XI game at Alvanley when Mobberley were bowled out for 87, David Summers taking 4-16 and Max Tonge 3-17. Alvanley didn’t lose a wicket in reaching their target, skipper David Jones hitting 63 not out.
Kingsley won by three wickets entertaining Barnton, Travis Martin taking 5-47 as the visitors were dismissed for 108. Kingsley replied with 109-7, Ben Stoddart hitting 38 not out and Tony Mullens 40.
Kingsley 2nd were forced to settle for a draw in their TACS Partnership Cheshire League game at Prestbury, after bowling out the home side for 154.
Andrew Ainsworth took 5-35 and Joe Kitchen 3-37. Kingsley were 144-7 at the close, Julian Holmes 42 and Harry Waring 45 not out.
In the Cheshire Alliance, Frodsham beat Norbury but their 2nd XI went down by one wicket in an exciting finish against Audlem.
Frodsham were dismissed for 97, T Burgess 23 and Audlem’s last pair were at the wicket when the winning run was scored.   Ian Hart took 2-21 and Andrew Graham 2-14.
Frodsham 3rd had to settle for for a draw at Old Parkonians, finishing five runs shy of the home side’s 180-6 with A Littlewood hitting 62 not out  and Dave Woodall 56 not out.
