RAIDERS got away with IT equipment worth thousands of pounds from a Warrington school during the night.
They smashed a hole in a wall at Culcheth Primary School in Warrington Road, Culcheth and got away with more than 70 mini iPads from the ICT suite.
The raid was shortly before 10pm and the school’s alarm system was triggered. But the raiders had made their getaway before police or a security company could reach the scene.
Only 10 days ago, there was an earlier attempt to break into the school.
On that occasion, nothing was stolen but damage was caused to the roof.
The iPads were kept in a secure room with barred windows and a steel door, as well as alarm system.
Staff have been shocked by the burglary – but the school is open as usual today.
A number of schools in the Culcheth area have been targeted by thieves in recent months and police are seeking help from the public.
