A HOMECOMING parade is planned for Warrington Wolves if the team win Saturday’s Super League Grand Final against Wigan Warriors.
The team will make their way through the town on an open top bus and head to the home of the Wolves, The Halliwell Jones Stadium for the event.
The parade will start at 3pm in Woolston at the junction of the M6 and A57 Manchester Road. The bus will then travel along Manchester Road passing the Rope and Anchor, Dog and Partridge, and into Church Street passing the Ring O’Bells and the Bulls Head among other landmarks.
The bus is set to slow down at these points so that the crowds can get a good look.
It will then make its way through the town centre along Dial Street, leading to Scotland Road, and Winwick Street before reaching the stadium.
It is expected that the parade will take about an hour and a half and the route has been designed to allow fans the best views of the open-top bus and to give more people than ever the chance to welcome their sporting heroes home.
Drivers should note that there will be a series of short road closures along Church Street.
Fans wishing to attend at the stadium need to be aware that places in the stands will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. There will be no reserved seating.
Stadium turnstiles will be open at 2pm and close at 3.30pm with the event starting at 4.30pm when the team bus will arrive.The event finishes at 5.30pm.The ground will close if it reaches full capacity before 3.30pm. There will be entertainment in the ground and the kiosks will be open.
Fans should listen out for messages over the tannoy system about entrance to the ground and other important information on the day.

The team will come out onto the pitch to be congratulated on their success.
Cllr Terry O’Neill, leader of Warrington Borough Council said: “Fans turn out in their thousands for these homecoming events and fingers crossed we will all be here again in a couple of days as we celebrate yet more silverware for the town. Previous events to mark the success of the Wolves have been superb and I am sure the whole town is behind me is wishing the team the very best of luck – come on the wire we are all rooting for you!”

The Wolves are proud to have such a loyal fan base and we would like to thank you all for your support and best wishes. Hopefully the Wolves can go one step better this time out and lift the Super League Grand Final trophy. The homecoming parade would be a great opportunity to join together in celebrating the team’s great performance and consistency in the league and we would like all fans to join us in welcoming the team back on home soil.”
