New deal for Briers

WARRINGTON Wolves’ half-back Lee Briers has agreed a one-year contract extension with the club for the 2014 season.
Briers, who has also expressed a desire to move into coaching eventually, joined the club back in 1997 from neighbours St Helens making his debut in April of that year and he hasn’t looked back since.
He has currently made over 400 appearances for the Wolves crossing for 152 tries, kicking 945 goals and notching up 73 of his infamous drop goals; the most recent being against Leeds Rhinos to secure a 19-18 victory in Round 21.
His points tally sits at 2571 making him the leading point scorer in Warrington’s history and he holds heritage number 955.
Lee said: “I am really over the moon to have signed an extra year at Warrington. After a horrible start to the season with a neck injury I am delighted
that the club has given me this opportunity to finish my career here and also further my career in youth development coaching. Even though I had offers from other clubs there was only one place I was going to sign. The fans here are second to none.”
