WARRINGTON Wolves cruised into the Challenge Cup semi-final for the 4th time in five years with a convincing 44-24 triumph over Huddersfield Giants -and with victories over their Yorkshire opposition in every other recent cup success – the omens are again looking good – with Hull now standing in the way of a return to Wembley.
Warrington ran in eight tries through Paul Wood (10), Micky Higham (18), Chris Riley (26), Joel Monaghan (39 and 45), Lee Briers (52) and Garreth Carvell (58), with Brett Hodgson landing six from eight conversion attempts.
The Giants, who were completely out played in the opening 25 minutes, briefly responded with first half efforts from Lunt (30) and Ferguson (35) with late consolations from McGilvary (75) and Grix (79) with Brough adding four conversions.
