Major clean-up for parish

A MAJOR clean up is planned for the Great Sankey and Whittle Hall areas of Warrington.
Local councillors have arranged for the borough council’s “Love where you live” campaign to visit the area for three weeks, starting from Monday, June 24.
In addition to targeting irresponsible dog owners who do not clean up after their pets, the initiative will also support community “litter picking” events and clean up any fly tipping.
Cllr Hitesh Patel, who recently helped residents on Briarswood with a community estate clean up, is now urging residents to get in touch to highlight any grot-spot areas.
He said: “If there are any particular streets where dog fouling is really bad, if there’s any fly-tipping or if members of the community need help to organise a community litter pick then please let me know so that we can organise a plan of action for the three weeks.
“Community litter picks can be really good fun for both adults and children because you get to meet new people and it really helps build a sense of civic pride of where we live.”
