Wolves face Cougars in cup

WARRINGTON Wolves begin their defence of the Challenge Cup with a trip to Keighley Cougars following the draw which was made at the Halliwell Jones Stadium today.
Former Warrington legend and Challenge Cup winner Alex Murphy OBE and Bruce Ray, Communication Director of Carlsberg UK, the parent company of competition sponsors Tetley’s, conducted the draw.
Other stand out fixtures include Hull KR at home to Super League rivals St Helens whilst Leeds Rhinos begin their bid for a fourth consecutive Wembley appearance at home to local rivals Castleford Tigers.
Two of Rugby League’s newest clubs, Hemel Stags and University of Gloucestershire All Golds, earned home ties against Super League opposition and will take on Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and Salford City Reds, respectively.
Eyes will also be firmly fixed on the all-Cumbrian clash between Kingstone Press Championship sides Whitehaven and Workington Town.
