WARRINGTON Wolves young half back Gareth O’Brien has joined Castleford Tigers on a month’s loan with immediate effect.
Gareth, 21, is a product of the Warrington youth system and made his first team debut in the Challenge Cup tie versus Keighley Cougars in 2011.
Following a short but productive loan spell with Widnes early in 2012, during which he kicked the Vikings to a famous victory over Wigan in Round 6, O’Brien returned to
enjoy an extended mid-season run in the Warrington first team making 14 Wolves appearances in total, touching down for three tries and kicking 28 goals.
Warrington Wolves Head of Coaching Tony Smith says the loan period with Castleford will provide Gareth with more regular opportunities to play and gain experience at Super League level.
