Bin collections update

WARRINGTON council’s waste and recycling team has apologised to a small number of homeowners who didn’t receive their bin collections last Friday due to adverse weather making it difficult to collect in some outlying areas, including Burtonwood and Penketh.
The council is asking householders whose refuse (black bin) collection was missed to accept a double collection this coming Friday (Jan 25).
The crews will collect up to two bags of side waste but only in areas were collections were missed.
For households who did not receive a blue bin recycling collection last Friday the council will collect again on their next scheduled collection day.
Again up to two bags of recyclable waste will also be accepted on the next scheduled collection but only if materials are presented in boxes or clear bags to prevent contamination.
The council is also asking householders to use the three community recycling centres and local bring sites at supermarkets etc, details of which are available via www.recycleforwarrington.co.uk
Weather permitting the council aims to collect waste as normal from black and blue bins tomorrow.
Gritting crews are focussing their efforts today in the areas due to receive bin collections tomorrow to assist with this task.
