HARD working members of Warrington Golf Club have helped raise £12,600 for four local charities.
Cheques were presented to the recipients at a ceremony at the Appleton based club.
St Joseph’s Family Centre received £6,200, the Samaritans were given £3,100, and Macmillan Cancer Support received £3,100.
The Junior Section of the Club also raised £400 for St Rocco’s Hospice.
Captain Walter Winstanley and Lady Captain Margaret Croft said that despite the extra effort that had to be put in during a period of financial difficulty, there had also been a lot of enjoyment during the fundraising events.

Highlights included a Charity Am-Am golf event, a Sportsmen’s Dinner and for the first time a Craft Fair, which featured a book of members’ favourite cooking recipes. Other events included quiz nights, bridge drives and raffles.
Mr Winstanley said: “Margaret and I are very proud of what has been achieved this year. The members of Warrington Golf Club should be congratulated on their generosity. They all have great hearts when it comes to supporting these important local causes.”
