AN independent health champion is being sought in Warrington to help make a positive contribution to how health and social care services are delivered in the town.
Healthwatch Warrington is a new independent organisation which is in the process of being set up to champion local health and social care issues from April 2013 onwards. It will seek to represent the views of communities and people in Warrington to help shape future provision and service delivery.
Healthwatch is looking for a Chairperson and Board of Directors, so if you have got the drive and want to make a positive contribution to this important agenda then come along to an information session on Tuesday 8 January at The Gateway, Sankey Street from 10am to 12pm.
Cllr Pat Wright, (pictured right) executive board member for health, wellbeing and adult services said: “We are looking for a diverse group of people to represent the community fairly and openly in this new endeavour. Becoming a board member of the Healthwatch provides a great opportunity to help influence, deliver service improvements and make a real difference to the lives of the people of Warrington. I would urge anyone who is interested to come along to the event at The Gateway to find out more and ask questions.”
Healthwatch Warrington will have the powers to recommend investigations or special reviews via Healthwatch England or the Care Quality Commission.

  1. Why hold the session when most people are going to be at work – not all of us work in Local Government and other parts of the public sector and can get the time to attend such sessions.
