LOCAL residents were treated to a three course Christmas dinner at the new St Werburgh’s community hub on Boswell Avenue thanks to three police community support officers based at Stockton Heath police station.
A total of 26 residents from the Gainsborough Road area were invited to the hub where ex chefs, P.C.S.O’s Tom Reid and Daren Dennis, had prepared and cooked the meal with ingredients kindly donated by Sainsburys Local on London Road.
After dinner P.C.S.O Tony Spruce called 4 games of bingo and a raffle with prizes that had been donated by staff at the Co-op Kingsway South.
P.C.S.O Tom Reid said: “The new community hub is a great place for us to meet and engage with members of the community, it was fantastic to see so many enjoying themselves.”
The community hub will re-open its weekly coffee morning on Thursday 3rd January from 10 am -12 noon.
