Road work misery set to continue

MOTORISTS and residents in the Culcheth area of Warrington are being advised that major works to Wilton Lane will continue in the New Year.
The works which have shut down over the Christmas period and will resume again on Monday 7 January for five weeks. The road will be opened in this period but temporary lights will be necessary at one of the bridges to reduce traffic speeds to 10mph and to maintain site safety.
Local traders say the road works resulted in a down turn in trade in the run up to Christmas and questioned the council’s wisdom at starting the works so close to their busiest time of the year.
Meanwhile the alternative route during the road closure is still: B5207 Broseley Lane, Common Lane, A574 Warrington Road, A580 East Lancashire Road, A572 Newton Road and B5207 Kenyon Lane.
