Nursery school is outstanding

WARRINGTON’S Sandy Lane Nursery and Forest School has again been praised as “outstanding” following a recent inspection by Ofsted.
The education watchdog, in their report, says the school continues to be outstanding in all areas and has even improved since the previous inspection by becoming a Forest school with its own woodland next to the play area.
Children are very keen to attend school, settle in extremely quickly and have excellent opportunities to learn and develop their skills indoors and outdoors.
Teaching and learning are excellent and staff have outstanding expertise. Disabled children and those with special educational needs make outstanding progress thanks to the high quality care and education they receive.
The leadership team and staff are at the forefront of excellence in Early Years education and the school is considered by the Local Authority to be a model of best practice, described as a “flagship school” for the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Head teacher Lindsay Bray said: “I’m absolutely delighted with the report and extremely proud of everyone at the nursery who has enabled us to maintain this high standard. We are glad the inspection recognised the outstanding progress that the children make and the hard work and professionalism of the staff and governors was noted.”
Cllr Colin Froggatt, Warrington Borough Council’s executive member for children and young people’s services said: “I’d like to send my congratulations to the entire school, staff, and governors on this excellent report. We are very proud of this level of achievement.”
