Police seek Good Samaritan motorist

POLICE at Warrington are seeking a “Good Samaritan” motorist who took a woman home after she was involved in a collision with his car.
The incident was outside the Tesco Express store in Knutsford Road, Grappenhall shortly before 6pm on Thursday, December 13.
A car and a woman pedestrian were involved and afterwards the car driver took the 63-year-old pedestrian to her home. But neither party exchanged details.
Subsequently, however, the woman has required hospital treatment for a a fractured knee cap and sprained ligaments.
Police are now trying to trace the driver, who was in a small, light coloured car. There was a woman passenger in the vehicle.
Sgt Neil Farnworth said: “The male driver stopped at the scene and taken the pedestrian back to her home address but neither party exchanged details. Since then it has been discovered that the pedestrian has sustained injuries to her leg for which she is receiving hospital treatment.
“We are now trying to trace the driver as part of our enquiries and are urging the man to come forward so we can bring things to a conclusion. There was also a woman inside the car with him and we would also appeal for her to make contact with us.”
The car driver was in his 50s, with sandy coloured hair and a beard.
Sgt Farnworth added: “We are also appealing to anyone who may know the identity of the driver or have any information regarding the vehicle to come forward.”
