Wolves target Cheshire

WARRINGTON Wolves took to the road to market themselves across Cheshire.
Wolves’ chief executive Andy Gatcliffe was special guest at a Cheshire Ambassadors event hosted at The Grosvenor Hotel, Chester.
As a guest speaker Andy communicated the role the club plays within the local business community emphasising the town and club’s growing importance as the Rugby League World Cup approaches in autumn 2013.
Andy was one of over 50 who attended alongside His Grace, Duke of Westminster and Zoe Curlett, West End Singer. Other guest speakers included: Brian Smith – Vice President of Mass Spectrometry Business Operations, Waters Corporation, Martyn Cray – Plant Director of Vauxhall Motors and John Leake -Business Development Manager at Sci-tech Daresbury Science & Innovation Centre.
The Ambassadors Programme, hosted by Marketing Cheshire and the Cheshire Business Leaders, is a promotional platform to sell the county as a destination to Invest, Live, Study, Visit or Meet.
Andy said: “I was honoured to be invited along as a guest speaker at such a prestigious event for the local area. We are proud of the position the club holds within Warrington and the wider borough. Our on-field success over recent years has raised the profile of the club within both the sporting and business communities, and we aim for this to not only benefit ourselves but also the Cheshire region as a whole.”
Chris Brown Chief Executive of Marketing Cheshire commented: “The role of Cheshire’s Ambassadors will be to help spot and create opportunities for Cheshire and we were delighted that so many were able to attend. We know, Cheshire is a fantastic place to invest in, move your business to, host your conference or event in and we need our Ambassadors help to help spread the word globally.
“We currently have over 58 ambassadors committed to promoting Cheshire from all areas of business, sports and celebrity and are ready to support them in delivering the vision and turning leads into economic growth for the region.”
Neville Chamberlain, Chair of Cheshire Business Leaders continued: “The ambassador programme appeals to business people or celebrities that have an emotional bond with Cheshire or have business interests here. The lunch further impassioned our ambassadors to go out and promote Cheshire and Warrington at every opportunity.
“Cheshire is one of the UKs best kept secrets and we need to use people in key positions of influence within their networks and talk about why Cheshire is so exceptional.”
