CHILDREN at Appleton Thorn Link Club held a “Beep Beep! Day” to help promote road safety.
The national campaign aims to make roads safer for children and adults on foot and bike. It followed a survey in which eight in 10 children said they wanted slower speeds in their community.
As part of the campaign youngsters were taught about road safety and traffic awareness via a series of fun activities including making posters and singing road safety songs.

Kids raising awareness is great but council needs to do something too.
Yet another child hit on Loushers lane!! We NEED a crossing!!
Great idea pester power can be very strong…… web site http://www.brake.org.uk/resources/community-campaign-kit.htm gives lots of information – unfortunately we’ve just missed the annual Beep Beep week which finished last Saturday 24th Nov. However 2532 days to get organised for the next and the web site gives lots of practical ideas that can be deployed now. Lobby your councillors and School Governors for more action.
