Drivers warned to expect delays

DRIVERS at Warrington have been warned to expect delays when maintenance work starts on a busy local road next week.
Work will start on Monday, December 3 on Callands Road, Callands, between Lydbury Close and the Cromwell Avenue/Europa Boulevard roundabout, near St Asaph Drive.
It is expected to continue for about three weeks and will involve carriageway resurfacing and renewal of existing traffic calming features.
Sections of Callands Road will be closed during working hours, 9am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
The scheme will be carried out in sections to maintain access to the shops and school, and only the section that is being worked on will be closed. Access to the side roads within the closed section will not be possible, except under the guidance of the contractor.
A diversion is to operate via Callands Road and Cromwell Avenue.
During working hours, bus service 18A will be diverted along Cromwell Avenue and will not serve Callands Road. Service 18 will serve Callands Road from the Westbrook end, but will turn short depending on the location of the works in progress.
A borough council spokesperson said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused while we carry out these essential works.”
