Vote for science images

PEOPLE in Warrington are being invited to vote for the best images of science in a photographic competition.
Forty of the most spectacular photographs of cutting edge science and engineering have been shortlisted in the 2012 Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) Photowalk competition.
The top 10 images have been chosen from each of the STFC’s four sites, which include Daresbury Laboratory. The public is invited to visit http://www.ukphotowalk.org.uk/competition/all/5100/ to vote before November 18.
Finalists after the voting will go to a national judging panel, where an overall winner will be selected.
In September amateur and professional photographers were given unique “behind the scenes” access to British science laboratories that have been at the forefront of a number of recent scientific discoveries.
The best UK Photowalk images will qualify for an international competition against images from laboratories in the United States, Germany, Italy and Canada.
