Planners praised by councillor

PLANNING bosses at Warrington who deferred a decision on a controversial housing project have been praised by borough councillor Chris Vobe.
Cllr Vobe (pictured) has applauded the decision of Town Hall planners to visit the site of a proposed Redrow Homes project on land off Doeford Close, Culcheth.
Nearby residents, and Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council, have lodged objections to the scheme which they say could cause significant traffic problem in Culcheth village.
Cllr Vobe said: “A site visit later this month will give councillors a real opportunity to see the concerns that local people have submitted in the flesh.
“I hope that when they visit the area, they will see that our arguments about parking, limited access and traffic congestion in the Twiss Green area are well founded.
“Redrow have tried to brush these concerns away in their written response to the council – but seldom do words on a printed page tell the whole story. That’s why it’s important to listen and remain open to what others have to say.
“I encourage councillors to take real account of these local views and to see the whole matter in context when they visit Doeford Close. It is right that they are deferring a decision until after a site visit, and I will continue to support residents in making a strong case against the development.”

  1. You need to be careful Nick, it is starting to look like you have an obsession with Cllr Vobe. Also your name calling hints at your own immaturity. Your making a fool of yourself.

  2. I am certainly not obsessed with him – it just seems impossible to avoid him on here or the other news site, although I suspect in the last few days he has not welcomed the exposure. As for “Name calling” – what name calling, i was merely pointing out the discrepency between him praising the planning department and his mother’s criticism of it..

  3. Sha this is a welcome new trend and long may it continue, because the elected Members on the committee did not always make site visits before. Planning officers visited the sites and then said what they wanted to say……
