Road closure to cut anti-social behaviour

A TRAFFIC order aimed at reducing anti-social behaviour is being introduced by Warrington Borough Council.
Part of Hall Lane, Burtonwood, has already been closed to tackle the problem, and the access restrictions are to be extended.
A council spokesperson said: “Current access restrictions at this location aim to prevent antisocial behaviour but it is still occurring periodically. The proposals, to extend the existing restriction, (currently running from the junction with Bradley Lane to approximately 710m east of that point), by an additional approximate 168 metres extending the easterly point of the restriction to 878m from Bradley Lane.
“This will further promote the council’s commitment to reducing this type of behaviour by eliminating the area where it can presently be undertaken. The measures proposed are considered to be the most appropriate and cost effective measures for the road in question taking into account its current usage, the immediate environment and present traffic conditions.”
The order will prevent driving, except for access to properties on or via Hall Lane.
It is believed that the proposed measures will complement the environment and will improve the quality of life for local residents.
Details of the proposal may be examined at the Legal Services Section, Quattro Building, New Town House, Buttermarket Street, Warrington, during the usual office hours Monday to Friday.
All representations must be in writing either by post to Jo Nugent of Legal Services or delivered by hand to the address above by October 11.
