Traditional music from Russia

A RARE opportunity to hear traditional music from Russia comes at St Mary’s Church, Buttermarket Street, Warrington on Friday, September 28.
Lyra, an ensemble of professional singers from Russia will be presenting an evening of folk songs and chants of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The group are from St Petersburg and normally sing at various churches and theatres in the city.
They seek to present the rich heritage of the Russian Orthodox Church alongside the country’s folk tradition to inspire and delight people with an interest in Russian, its history and culture.
The performance starts at 7.30pm
