Bungee run boost for charity

A HOST of very special guests will bounce into action next week to raise funds for a Warrington-based charity.
Some top names in the town have pledged to take part in an inflatable bungee run at Golden Square Shopping Centre’s Summer Camp, in the Old Market Place, on Thursday, August 30, from 1pm to 2pm.
Shoppers have been encouraged to watch the fun unfold and donate funds to the centre’s charity of the year, the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace, which was set up after the IRA bombings in Warrington Town Centre in 1993.
Colin and Wendy Parry set up the Peace Centre, in Great Sankey, following the attack, which killed their 12-year-old Tim Parry, to help support those affected by conflict, acts of terror and political violence.
Volunteers from the Peace Centre will be collecting donations in buckets at Golden Square throughout the day.
Golden Square manager Ian Cox, said: “This is the first of many events we will be holding to raise money for the Peace Centre which does such brilliant work, not just in Warrington but across the UK.
“We are thrilled that high-profile names have already shown their support for our charity of the year and we hope people dig deep to help this very worthy cause.”
Children will be able to have a go on the bungee run on Wednesday and Thursday, for free as part of the Golden Square’s highly successful Summer Camp.
