ARTISTS from Warrington will be displaying their work at one of the region’s top tourist attractions – Tatton Park, Knutsford.
The Warrington Art Group will be holding its annual trophy exhibition at the venue for the ninth successive year.
It runs from Saturday August 25 until Sunday September 9 (closed Monday September 3). Visitors will be able to see high quality work by more than 30 Cheshire artists.
Artists will compete for the Jean Wild Cup for best overall entry and the Edwin Allen Cup for the best interpretation of the special subject Memories and Reflections.
This year’s guest judge is Anthony Barrow, a well-known artist and art tutor, from Wigan.
The Studio Art Gallery, Warrington, is sponsoring this year’s People’s Choice competition, which is decided by the votes of visitors. The gallery will also present the trophy which it commissioned from award-winning glass artist Mark Briggs.
Tatton’s learning and visitor services manager Vicky Stubbs said: “Tatton Park is always pleased to work in partnership with local community groups and in this case support the local artists from Warrington Art Group in showcasing their artwork and skills.
“This exhibition also provides visitors with the opportunity to see this exhibition for free and vote for their favourite piece of work.”
Visitors to the exhibition, in the Knutsford Room in the Stableyard, will have the opportunity to buy the art on show and learn more about the artists and the group.
The exhibition is open from 10am to 4.45pm (opening hours on Saturday, August 25 only: 1pm-4.45pm). Entrance to the event is free, normal park entry charge of £5 per car applies.
