Holiday fun at VPX

HUNDREDS of young people from across Warrington were given the opportunity to try out new activities for free at the annual VPX event taking place in Victoria Park during the school holidays.

Community Police Support Officers Tony Spruce and Tom Reid helped co-ordinate a full day of fun at the annual Victoria Park Experience (VPX) providing an opportunity to try a wide variety of events including street dancing, football, cricket and rugby.

VPX is taking place on each Tuesday in August at the Knutsford Road venue from 11am to 4pm and for the first time this year there is a special VPX extra event for over 15s from 5pm-7pm, including a skate jam, DJ and street games.

The event will run again next Tuesday August 21 and anyone who wants to take part can just turn up on the day.

Other activities include a special graffiti workshop and coaching in BMX riding, skating, volleyball, athletics skateboarding and much more.

For more details call Tom or Tony at Stockton Heath Police Station on 01606 362630.
