WARRINGTON-based cycling club North Cheshire Clarion is to stage the “Go-Ride Games” at Warrington Sports Club, Walton Lea Road, Higher Walton, tomorrow (Saturday).
A grass track event, featuring velodrome style racing, the event aims to maximise the legacy of the Team GB successes at the London Olympics.
Children and adults are welcome to go along and have a go at the Olympic track cycling events of the Time Trial, Team Sprint, Team Pursuit and the Kierin – all that’s needed is a bike in good working order and a helmet.
Registration will be open at 8.15am and the action starts at 9.00am with a full programme of three hours of racing.
North Cheshire Clarion chairman and coach Geoff Prince said: “The Go-Ride Games not only celebrate the success of Team GB but gives everyone the opportunity to have a go at cycle racing. We’re keen to get as many people as possible involved in cycle sport and this event is a great way to see what club cycling and cycle racing is all about”.
