A memorable day of play

THERE was a memorable day of events in Warrington town centre to celebrate National Play Day.
A helter skelter, swing boats, fairground stalls, a jazz band and Punch and Judy combined to make visiting the shopping centre a fun event.
Even Wolfie, the Warrington Wolves mascot, enjoyed himself on the day by planting some flowers – and generally getting into the swing of things.
National Play Day’s theme this year was “Get out and play” – and plenty of youngsters in Warrington did just that.
Cllr Colin Froggatt, the borough council’s executive member for children and young people’s services, said: “Play Day recognises the importance of play in a child’s life and it was great that so many excited children and adults visited the town centre and got involved in the activities.”
