Wolves too strong for Bulls

FOUR tries from full-back Stefan Ratchford helped Warrington Wolves secure a convincing 50-22 victory over Bradford Bulls at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Ratchford struck twice in a one sided first half with other tries from Richie Myler, Simon Grix, Joel Monaghan and Chris Riley providing a comfortable 32-6 half time lead for the Wolves, with the Bull’s only try coming from Danny Addy following a one-sided first half.
The Wolves had scored three times in the opening 15 minutes, including from the kick off as Rhys Evans sent Joel Monaghan in at the corner. Although Briers was wide with the conversion the scoreboard was soon back in action with tries for Myler and Riley, with the Bulls their own worst enemy with poor defending.
The one way traffic continued with Myler combining well with former Salford team mate Ratchford allowing the full-back to score the first of his four tries, with Briers’ conversion making it 22-0 after 18 minutes.
Three minutes later Simon Grix was going over for a try on his return from injury with Briers again on target. Ratchford’s second try converted by Briers made it 32-0, with the Bulls getting a consolation just before the break.
Bradford mounted a brief fight back at the start of the second half with a second try for Addy on on 46 minutes followed by Elliot Whitehead three minutes later, with Gale adding the extras making it 32-16.
But the Wolves responded with tries from David Solomona after 53 minutes goaled by Briers and two more from Ratchford on 63 and 68, both goaled by Briers’ replacement, Gareth O’Brien as the Wolves cemented victory. Karl Pryce grabbed a late consolation for the visitors on 73 minutes, with Gale adding ther extras for thelast score of the afternoon.
