A SERIES of events are planned in Warrington to mark Breastfeeding Awareness Week up until Saturday.
Health professionals from Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Trust, Warrington Division and the Bosom Buddy peer supporters are hosting events.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) in partnership with Warrington Wolves there will be a Pram/Toddler Walk around the Halliwell Jones Stadium. Anyone interested in taking part should meet at the Wolves Foundation at 1.30pm for the walk at 2pm. There will be refreshments available.
On Thursday there will be coffee morning at the Bru Café, Riverside Retail Park, from 10.00am until 12noon. This is an opportunity to meet other breastfeeding mothers and there will be professionals on hand to answer any questions.
Mothercare, Alban Retail Park, has a breastfeeding information stand Today (Tuesday) from 9.30am – 4.00pm.
The Bosom Buddy peer supporters group is looking for more mothers to help support women who are breastfeeding. They would need to offer a minimum of two hours a week and will be offered full training after an interview and assessment.
