Jubilee street party success

THOUSANDS of people braved the inclement weather to visit Warrington Market’s Giant Jubilee Street Party.
The event included a day of street entertainment, fair ground rides, outdoor market stalls, antiques fair and a jubilee flotilla on the River of Life in Bridge St.
Event organiser, Market Manager Steve Pickering said :” It was great to see so many people having a fantastic time in the town centre. We have a series of large scale town centre events planned for the rest the summer, including a Health and Well-being Day on Saturday June 23.
Meanwhile Steve raised over £900 for the Mayor Cll Steve Wright’s Charities – the Warrington Charities Trust, St Joseph’s Family Centre and BLESMA (British Limbless Ex Service Men’s Association by riding around the town centre on a giant chicken during the event.
