WARRINGTON Wolves Head of Coaching Tony Smith has announced his 19 man squad to start the 2012 Stobart Super League campaign this weekend with a trip to the KC Stadium to take on Hull FC on Sunday with Lee Briers and Joel Monaghan (Pictured) both sidelined.
The team returned from their pre-season training camp in Australia earlier this week and Smith says the team took a lot from the trip: “The experience that we all gained was a real eye-opener in numerous areas. We got out of it a whole lot more than we expected to. We competed pretty well against the Rabbitohs and on the training park which will give our guys a lot of confidence.”
Looking ahead to Sunday he added: “It will be a tough fixture. It always is going over there. Hull are a good team with a new coach, so they will be a little bit unpredictable in terms of playing style, although we did have a little look at them in their friendlies these are always different to how the competition pans out. Hopefully we’ll have plenty of support travelling across with us to get right behind us, and hopefully we can deliver and entertain like we did last year.”
New signings Trent Waterhouse, Stefan Ratchford and Chris Hill are all named in the 19 with Lee Briers and Joel Monaghan the most noticeable absentees, alongside the injured David Solomona (broken leg) and recuperating Brett Hodgson.
