Volunteers wanted for new support group

MARIE Curie Cancer Care is seeking supporters from South Warrington to become involved in a new and exciting fundraising group to raise money for local cancer care.
The group will be supporting the charity by raising vital funds to provide nurses to care for terminally ill cancer patients who want to spend their last days at home, instead of in hospital.
The new fundraising group will hold events, help with supermarket collections and also have the opportunity to share their own fundraising ideas, with lots of support from local fundraiser Michelle Bate (pictured right).
Michelle explains what the new group can expect saying; “The support of these fundraising groups is absolutely invaluable to us and a group like this will certainly make fundraising even more fun for our supporters in South Warrington. We need different types of people with different skills, who can offer different amounts of time to help us
raise money for palliative cancer care. You might be great at organising small or large events like coffee Mornings for example. You might be good with money and figures, you might be able to take minutes, or put a rota together, or be a happy to speak in public about the service that Marie Curie provides.
“Whatever your skills are the South Warrington fundraising group will need them. We are really excited about getting our South Warrington supporters together to raise even more money for the charity!”
If you would like to be involved, or would like more details on please call Michelle on 0161 2552809 or [email protected]
