Young Wolves to gain experience

WARRINGTON Wolves young forward Lee Mitchell has joined Harlequins on a months loan while young centre Rhys Evans (pictured above) has signed dual registration with Leigh Centurions to give both players the opportunity to gain more game time and playing experience.
Meanwhile three under 20s players have also joined Championship sides on dual registration.
Mitchell, 22, who has previously been on dual registration terms with Leigh Centurions, has come through the Warrington youth system.
He became a full member of the Wolves’ squad in 2008 making his mark in the first team towards the back end of the year scoring a memorable try in a win over Leeds. Having been part of the Wolves successful academy sides for a number of years, Lee has now made 35 appearances for the first team making three substitute appearances and scoring one try so far this season.
This loan spell to Harlequins will build on this to increase Lee’s experience playing at Super League level.
Wolves’ rising star Rhys Evans is following in Lee’s footsteps agreeing dual registration terms with Leigh Centurions. Welsh-born Rhys made his first team debut last season against Harlequins and has made a name for himself at the start of this year making seven first-team appearances so far. Rhys is another player who has benefited from the club’s academy system and will continue to grow as a player with regular appearances for both Leigh and the Wolves.
Meanwhile a number of young players from the Wolves’ under 20s squad have also joined teams on dual registration terms: Brooke Broughton to Championship side Dewsbury, Mike Stewart to Championship One side Rochdale and Chris Fleming to Whitehaven.
Dual registration will provide these young players with more competitive game time and a chance to develop as players within the Co-operative Championship and Championship One leagues.
