Exiting Mathers to miss Bulls clash

WARRINGTON full-back Richie Mathers (pictured above) will miss Saturday’s trip to Bradford after jarring his back in last week’s victory over Hull KR as the Wolves revealed the inform player will not be part of the team next season.
But the 19 man squad announced by Head of Coaching Tony Smith for the match at the Grattan Stadium, kick off 6.15pm, is boosted by the return of Skipper Adrian Morley, second rower Ben Westwood and Centre Chris Bridge from international duty.
Smith said: “This will be another tough game. They’ve been a bit deflated since our cup game…It’s been a tough time for Bradford recently and they are playing for some personal pride at the moment but I’m sure they’ll be motivated to play against us though.
“We’ve got our own reasons for going there and playing well.”
Meanwhile Smith has confirmed Mathers will be leaving the club at the end of the season following the signing of Brett Hodgson from Huddersfield.
Mathers has decided against taking up a further one year option on his contract as he “wants to be number one wherever he plays.”
19-man squad: 11 Louis Anderson 27 Vinnie Anderson 23 Ryan Atkins 4 Chris Bridge 6 Lee Briers 10 Garreth Carvell 18 Mike Cooper 17 Simon Grix 13 Ben Harrison 5 Chris Hicks 14 Mickey Higham 3 Matt King 22 Tyrone McCarthy 9 Michael Monaghan 8 Adrian Morley 2 Chris Riley 26 David Solomona 12 Ben Westwood 16 Paul Wood.
