Funeral of Wire legend Barry Briggs

THE funeral of Warrington Rugby League legend Barry Briggs will take place at Christ Church, Padgate on Monday March 8 at 12.30pm.

The funeral will be followed by a service at Warrington Crematorium at 1 30pm, followed by a reception is at Alford Hall, where all are welcome.

Barry died in his sleep at St Rocco’s Hospice last week from cancer. He made his debut for Warrington in 1965 after working his way through the ranks, from Warrington Schoolboys.
He starred in the second row, while brother Wilf made his name at stand-off.
