MEMBERS of the Bridgewater Players will have a hard act to follow when they tackle “Steel Magnolias” – an enormously popular play that has also been made into a hit film.
The show goes on at Thelwall Parish Hall on April 22-24 with the curtain rising at 7.45pm each evening.
“Steel Magnolias” have proved popular both in this country and in the United States, where it was voted one of the top 10 plays.
The film had a star-studded cast including as Julia Roberts, Sally Field, Daryl Hannah, Dolly Parton, Olympia Dukakis and Shirley MacLaine,
Whila a tragic story, it brings out how true friends can rally together and triumph in the face of such adversity, and there’s a good helping of humour to go along with the tragedy.
The cast will include Anita Rushman, Jennie Matthews, Alison Hornby, Gemma Buswell, Maxine Dixon and June Brogdale.
