Heavenly cooking
WARRINGTON-based Father Ian Delinger, assistant chaplain at the University of Chester, appeared on the BBC2 television programme “Instant Restaurant”, showing off his culinary skills with a Mexican-themed menu and realising a profit of £135, half of which was donated to the British Red Cross Haiti Disaster Relief Fund.

Hospital lottery
WINNING numbers in the weekly lottery run by the League of Friends of Warrington Hospital were 4, 5, 7 and 13. The jackpot prize went unclaimed and will be rolled over to next week. A £25 consolation prize was won by a member of hospital staff.

Extension allowed
A PLANNING inspector has allowed an appeal by a resident of Springfield Avenue, Grappenhall against the refusal by Warrington Borough council to grant planning consent for a garage conversion and first floor extension.

Coffee time
THE Warrington branch of the Co-operative Women’s Guild is holding a fairtrade coffee morning at St John’s United Reformed Church today (Saturday) from 10am to 12 noon.

Antique road show
AN antique valuation day is to be held at The Pickering Arms pub in Thelwall on March. The event is in aid of the North West Air Ambulance.

Church friends
MEMBERS of Great Sankey Parish Council are to discuss ways of tidying up the graveyard at St Mary’s Church – including the possibility of setting up a “Friend’s” group.
