MP joins fire station campaign

WARRINGTON North MP Helen Jones has joined residents fighting proposals to cut services at Birchwood Fire Station.
She met residents at the fire station and then joined people who set up a stall to collect names for a protest petition at the Birchwood Shopping Centre.
She said: “The number signing the petition shows how concerned local people are. As usual, the north of the town is being targeted for cuts.
“The Tories who run the Fire Authority need to be aware that this proposal puts lives at risk and local people will continue to oppose it.”
