Mystery fire at haulage depot

A MYSTERY fire engulfed a heavy lorry tractor unit at a Warrington distribution centre early today – and spread to four nearby cars.
The blaze was at the Eddie Stobart yard on the Stretton Green Distribution Park in Langford Way, Appleton Thorn.
Fire crews from Stockton Heath, Warrington and Birchwood, led by watch manager Neil McElroy of Stockton Heath, tackled the outbreak using hosereel jets and breathing apparatus.
The HGV tractor unit was badly damaged and the fire spread to four cars owned by employees.
Cause of the blaze is not known but is being investigated today.
