POLICE have appealed for help from the public after a botched burglary at Warrington.
A man walking into Locking Stumps Post Office in Glover Road, Birchwood – also known as Dillon’s newsagents – threatened staff and demanded money from the till.
Defiant staff refused to co-operate and he ran out of the shop, grabbing at a customer’s handbag which was hooked over a pushchair, as he left.
The pushchair was overturned but a two-year-old child inside was unhurt. The offender fled empty handed.
Police said the offender was aged 18-20, of slim build and about 5ft 7 inches tall. He was wearing dark clothing with a green scarf and a hat pulled down over his forehead.
Anywho who has information which might be useful to the police is asked to call 0845 458 0000 or the anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
