Funeral of former councillor

THE funeral takes place on Monday, February 8 of former borough councillor Terry Stacey who has died in hospital after a short illness. He was 80
Mr Stacey represented the Appleton and Stretton ward from 1985-89.
But prior to that he had been an officer of the council for more than 42 years.
For many years he was the Mayor’s secretary and was closely involved in the founding of the town twinning arrangement between Warrington and Hilden.
He was honoured by Hilden with the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
The funeral service will take place at Our Lady’s RC Church, Latchford at 9.30am, followed by a reception at the Kings Club, in St Mary’s Street.
Family flowers only have been requested. However, donations may be forwarded to Mark Stacey, at 119 St Mary’s Street, Latchford, Warrington.
Mr Stacey, who is predeceased by his wife Dorothy, leaves three sons – Mark, Kevin and Paul and six grandchildren.
