Parking ban to be extended

0

HIGHWAYS chiefs are planning to extend a parking ban on the

A49 near Warrington to ease problems caused for heavy lorries trying to pass

parked vehicles.

The problem spot is on Tarporley Road, at its junction with

Stretton Road, Stretton.

Vehicles parking to visit local business premises and

commuters who park for long periods of the day are being blamed for the

problem.

The resulting obstruction forces heavy lorries to stop and

reduces two-way traffic flow.

Highways chiefs want to extend the existing no waiting area

– which covers 30 metres from the Stretton Road junction – to cover 70 metres.

Anyone who wishes to object or make other representation

should do so to the borough council by February 25.
