A Christmas journey
THE choirs of St Mary’s Priory Church, Warrington will present a “feast of favourites” old and new, with Audience carols at the church on Sunday, January 3 at 3pm. Admission will be free. Organist will be Anthony Whittaker and the choirs will be under the direction of Michael Wynne.

Hospital lottery
TWO winners shared the jackpot prize of £415 in the weekly lottery run by the League of Friends of Warrington Hospital. Winning numbers were 1, 6, 9 and 15. Three consolation prizes of £100, £50 and £25 were awarded.

Tree protected
WARRINGTON’S development control committee has confirmed a tree preservation order in respect of a mature English Oak in the rear garden of a house in Hatchery Close, Appleton Thorn, despite objections from neighbours.

Carol service
THE annual carol service at Warrington Market takes place at 11am today (Saturday). Music will be provided by Casual Brass and children from Oakwood Avenue Primary School will lead the singing.

Wreath making
ALL members of the family will be welcome at Bewsey Old Hall tomorrow (Sunday) to learn how to create Christmas wreaths. The event starts at 1pm with a short walk to collect materials to make the wreaths.

Internal alterations
PLANNING chiefs have given the go-ahead for internal alterations at the Grade 2 Listed Warrington Police Station in Arpley Street. They include relocation of the help desk and closing off an internal door.
