Festive lights competition

A COMPETITION may be run to choose a resident to have their finger on the button for the switch-on of Stockton Heath Christmas lights in future years.
A resident suggested to the parish council that members could choose someone different each year to do the switch on. The speech would still be made by the parish council chairman.
Chairman Coun Peter Walker said: “It could be an older person, or a young person, for example who does the pressing of the button. Someone else could actually do that – we will think about it.”
