Police warning after attack on woman

POLICE at Warrington have warned the public to be vigilant following an attack on a woman as she walked alone in the early evening.
The incident was on the Leacroft Road industrial estate, near to the M62 motorway at about 5.10pm on Tuesday, December 8.
A local woman was walking alongside a business premises when she was approached by a man who subjected her to verbal abuse and then tried to assault her.
Fortunately, the woman managed to run away and although left in a state of shock, was not injured as a result of her ordeal.
A police spokeswoman said: “Whilst incidents such as this are uncommon in the area, we advise the public, especially lone females, to be cautious and avoid walking alone at night in poorly lit, quiet areas.”
